In British schools it is normal practice to have a group of volunteers who work towards the following aims:
-
To create a bridge of communication between the school and the parents.
-
To add to the sense of community that exists within the school.
-
To provide the opportunity to bring parents together.
-
To support families when they are new to the school.
-
To support the teachers during special events.
-
To raise funds to buy items that make our school even more special.
WAYS IN WHICH WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE THIS:
-
Ensuring each class has a parent representative and that these reps attend meetings with a member of the school senior management team once a term.
-
Organising various social events throughout the year.
-
Inviting new parents to the “BBS for Starters” meetings.
-
Running refreshment sales at school events.
